When the storm surge from Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast last Monday night, PMD’s New York City operation was plunged into darkness. With the help of battery operated smart phones, AM/FM radios, dedicated personnel, and a little bit of ingenuity, we were able to stay informed as well as continue working throughout the week.
We’ve all seen the images of the storm damage, and heard the tales of our heroic first responders and our fellow citizens. The loss of homes, businesses and entire communities has been devastating. We would like to send our sincerest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones. We are also acutely aware of the people who are still without power, clean water, and heat, even now, 7 days later.
